Sunday

I’m very tired again today but I carried on potting up my cucumbers and potting on other plants. I then sat and enjoyed the Magic Garden

Saturday

Ben and I had a lovely long day in the Magic Garden today. I planted the foxgloves in the shade of the blackcurrant and Bramley apple tree and the latest catnip slightly further along near the hedgehog house. This afternoon I spent some time potting on courgettes, squashes and cucumber.

Friday

Its been a beautiful if not very warm afternoon. Ben and I spent it in the Magic Garden. Ben has a new valerian cat toy which is smelly but he clearly like very much. I was happy just to be doing some macro photography

Thursday

I’m tired today and it has been cold and grey so although Ben and I sat in the Magic Garden, the only thing I did was some watering and Ben enjoyed the catmint that has not made its way into the ground yet.

Wednesday

I’m worn out having had my first day back at work. It was lovely to relax in the Magic Garden when I got home but sadly there was no sun so it wasn’t exactly warm! Ben was less than impressed with my disappearance for the day

Sunday

Another afternoon spent in the Magic Garden - not that warm but quite a reasonable amount of sun. I weeded the Magic bit, planted out the white catnip and had a go at the back corner. I also planted the new rhubarb at the back having pulled up armfuls of geranium and buttercup

Friday

Ridiculously tired at the moment so I was glad to spend an afternoon mainly sitting in the Magic Garden with Ben in his new favourite spot alongside the pond. I’ve bought a new obelisk so I can train the climbing courgettes up one so I sat in the sun putting it together.

Wednesday

Today was my first venture back into the world of work following my back surgery but I still spent a little time sitting in the Magic Garden with Ben. My aquilegia still delight me but I realise I will need to grow some more as there are so few left!

Beautiful sunny Sunday

Today has been a wonderful sunny day. Ben and I spent the afternoon in the garden. I caught up with some more potting on of tomatoes and planted an anthemis kelwayi on the far side of the pond. I also planted up my remaining terracotta pots with a ginger rosemary and a ginger mint (slight theme going on!) and a fresh lemon verbena. The scented geraniums also needed potting into bigger pots ready for their summer outdoors.

My black kale seedlings are surviving much to my surprise with no evidence yet of snail / slug damage Difficult to tell whether this is the sheep’s wool or because they don’t smell nice or even if the remaining leeks are putting them off! Hopefully they won’t attack the butternut squashes or courgettes either

Saturday

I spent all afternoon in the garden as it was gloriously sunny and warm. I created space for the next lot of peas (optimism over experience) and put out two butternut squash (Hunter’s) and two yellow courgettes in one trough and into one of the fabric pots the pumpkin and a green courgette.

Friday

It was wet overnight but even this morning it was pleasant to sit in the Magic Garden with Ben. The sun came out properly this afternoon and I took the opportunity to start planting up my troughs properly.

Thursday

I planted out some black kale today into one of the troughs in between the leeks. I also did some weeding and tidying up. I’m pleased to find my bee hotels are being used as well as the mining bees under the patio

Monday

I was in work this morning & came home via the garden centre as I felt in need of a reward! I have put the resulting purchases in this afternoon - 2 lavenders near the pond and an aquilegia in the north quadrant. I was very lucky to have sunshine this afternoon and sat in the sun to recover while Ben enjoyed it too.

Sunday

I’ve not spent much time in the Magic Garden today but did pot on some tomatoes into the trough that’s now sitting in the back of the tomato house - cue gales! It tipped down with heavy rain intermittently today but Ben was determinedly sitting out there.

Saturday

Its still surprisingly chilly given the amount of sun we have had today. Ben kept an eye on me as I pottered around the garden and I think he likes the solar fountain in the pond. I pinned back the broom and will give it a good feed I think as it looks a bit unhappy and I took the red one out and put it none of the pots for now to give it a chance to grow a bit. I planted the supermarket daisies too while I was working on that side of the pond.
